Questions about your wedding ceremony:

How long will the ceremony go for?

I have a few different options- a legal only one which is super quick (just like the name suggests, legal words only).

Then, there is the Short and Sweet- this ceremony goes for around 20 minutes.

You can also choose my longer ceremony, which I gave the name of “Something More”, which generally goes for longer than 20 minutes and has some type of ritual, or a much longer love story.

Are we able write our own vows?

I encourage couples to write their own vows, it adds a uniqueness to the ceremony. I can send along plenty of examples to give you inspiration. You still will have to say the legal wording which you can add in anywhere you would like.

Do we have to speak in front of everyone?

Yes, but it doesn’t have to be much at all. There are only 18 words that you must say as well, as yours and your partner’s full legal names, to be married in Australia. If you are not a big talker, that’s okay, I’ll do almost all the talking for you.

Can we include religious or our own cultural traditions into our ceremony?

Yes absolutely, I cater my ceremonies to you as a couple- all couples are different, and I love to try new things. If the legal words are there, we can create any ceremony you would like.

What type of readings can we have?

I have a lot of resources with readings and poems but you are also welcome to find your own, just for copyright purposes we do need to give credit to the author of your reading or poem, so try not to do a quick copy and paste and forget where you got it from.

What music do we need for the ceremony?

If I am not singing live for you, I always ask couples to supply a list of songs they would like playing before and after the ceremony and three key moment songs, these are –

-Aisle song (sometimes the bridal party has a different song to the bride)

– Signing of the register songs (I always ask for two- sometimes the photographers use this as a great photo op and we don’t want to rush)

– Recessional song (tends to be upbeat and fun, so the guests can really celebrate you)

Do we get a copy of the script before the day?

You sure do. I send all of my couples a copy of their script (don’t worry, I always ask first because sometimes couples want the surprise).

I love it when you check all the information in your story is correct and you are happy with the ring verse etc. If anything doesn’t fit, we always have time to change it.
