your wedding day: you need to know and Important Questions

What time will you arrive?

I always plan to arrive before the guests arrive. This way I can be set up, have some music playing and welcome them. I will always ask you what time guests are arriving and get there before that.

Do you provide the PA and Music?

Absolutely. I have a great wireless microphone and speaker system.

Music can either be played on my Spotify list that I pre-organised for you or I will play your music live with my guitar and vocals. It depends which package you chose, but I will always look after the music. I wouldn’t want to bother a guest to have to do that.

What are you going to wear on the day? 

When we meet I will ask questions like what colour your set up or flowers are. I usually wear a pretty dress or a nice top with a skirt or pants suit. I like to match but I don’t want to look like a bridesmaid.

What if it rains and our ceremony is outside?

We don’t talk about the R word!

In the unfortunate event that it is raining on your wedding day, please make sure you have wet weather back up plan, or at least a dry area near the ceremony.

If it is too wet, I won’t be able to take my equipment out in the rain and potentially get it damaged. It is not enjoyable for you or your guests to be outside in the unfavourable weather.

How can you sing me down the aisle and be our celebrant?

I get asked this a lot!

Music to me is like riding a bike, I have been doing it for so long.

To make things run as smooth as I can, because I can’t exactly just throw my guitar to the ground, I have everything set up where it needs to be.

I have my singing mic and my guitar stand right next to rest my guitar in. While you are getting your dress fluffed by your bridesmaid I then pick up my celebrant folder with my script and my wireless mic which is strategically placed on my speaker and start talking. I always start my ceremonies standing to the side, so this works perfectly.

What happens if someone is running late?

There have been weddings where the VIPs are running late. I never book two weddings on the same day so you can be sure I won’t be in a rush to be anywhere else, although waiting for people to arrive can be frustrating for other guests, especially if they are older or waiting in the sun. I’ll do my best to keep everyone happy. 

What happens if you are sick and can’t make it?

I don’t get sick… but seriously of course this is such a daunting question. I have even had a bride ask me what happens if I die! Quite simply, the show must go on!

Leading up to the day we will have worked together to create your ceremony, but if there ever was a time that I simply couldn’t get to your ceremony here’s what happens…

I have a group of celebrant buddies and we are each other’s back up, for the rare occurrences like this. The NOIM gets transferred to them via the Births Deaths and Marriage’s portal. The script that you have already approved gets sent to them, this will also have all your song choices on it. They will show up early to introduce themselves to put your mind at ease and get you to sign the declaration. They will then perform the ceremony as I would. I will make payment to them for covering my job. 

My “celebrant buddies” are very like-minded people to me, I could only hope they will blow your socks off with what they do.

Rest assured that I have never not been able to attend a wedding, so it is highly unlikely that you’ll be the first!
